Rules girls.
I had never heard the term until an episode of "Sex and the CIty" where Charlotte is determined to abide by "the rules." I still have no idea why, but I really got to thinking today though about the aforementioned "rules." Who made them up? And why are they apparently so important to follow?
So I looked it up -- turns out "the rules" have an entire website/empire run by Ellen Fein and Sherrie Schneider who claim to have the answers to all of the age old dating questions. I am very skeptical.
After scouring the website to dig up as much free information as I could, I stumbled upon the "top ten rules." I really thought #3 was hilarious -- "it's a fantasy relationship unless a man asks you out." Definitely got me laughing.
Being a happily single lady myself, I thought this stuff would reek of desperation. This theory is yet to be validated. However, I fully intend on purchasing "The Rules" book off of Amazon.com (who can say no to a paperback book that is under $10? I know I can't.)
Not to worry, I will keep you all updated on what I think once I read it. Even if I think it's ridiculous, I am sure some good insight/funny stories will come out of it. Who knows, maybe I'll become a "rules girl"? (Don't hold your breath.)
